Until you were human

Stripped down and naked

In a blink of lost resistance
You stepped back to take a breath
One footprint blurred to a chasm
So much darkness in its depth

In our time of no surrender
We could heal our wounds and pain
Walk through fire hand within hand
We could swallow acid rain

Now us is just me
Again for the first time
Lost my perspective
In all of this devotion

Where did our time go
When did this happen
How could I save us
From all this indifference
